Horsham's award-winning town centre with many Medieval and Tudor buildings provides a beautiful setting for shopping, strolling, browsing and relaxing. Walking through the mixture of intimate alleyways, wide streets, and landscaped piazzas, it is a delight to explore the specialist shops selling local produce, collectors' items and unusual gifts as well as department store and numerous well-known high street stores many of which are situated in Swan Walk shopping mall.

In 2006 a Channel 4 show, 'The 10 best and worst places to live in the UK' pronounced Horsham the second best place to live in the UK, beating the likes of Edinburgh and Reigate, and only beaten by Winchester. On 27 September 2007 Horsham was awarded as the overall winner of Britain in Bloom in the Large town / small city category in the whole of the UK with a Gold Award.

Catherine Howard (c.1520-1542) - 5th wife of King Henry VIII, lived in Horsham.
Eric Thompson (1929-1982) - Studied at Collyer's School before going on to narrate The Magic Roundabout.
Junior Campbell (William Campbell) - Wrote the music for the original Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends films and TV series.
Harry Enfeild - British comedian studied at Collyer's College before going to on to play famous characters such as 'Kevin the Teenager' and 'Jim Stonem' in Skins (E4 drama).
Jamie Hewiett - Studied at Tanbridge House School and Northbrook Art College before going on to co-create the band Gorillaz .
Simon Nye - Studied at Collyer's Grammar School before going on to write 'Men Behaving Badly'
Faye White - England Football captain and player for Arsenal and Ottawa Fury.
Holly Willoughby - Studied at Collyer's College before going on you pursue a successful career in modeling and TV presenting.
